Armando spoke of the landscape as a “guilty witness to historical events”.
I try to make this tension between nature and history tangible. A tree can continue to grow but carries history within it. The decay in nature produces new life but the scars remain visible.
80 years of freedom is not a given; it staggers, it struggles, it breathes, and above all, it connects, just like nature.
Freedom is not just a memory but a choice we have to make anew every day.
And so destruction and recovery go hand in hand (in a work of art )
