A sculpture for the roundabout of the Meentweg / Groot Hertoginnelaan in Bussum
Bussum is part of the fusion municipality: Lakes of the Gooi. The name suggests that there must be water! Bussum knows many landscapes, heath, forest, etc. but no more. My proposal is the roundabout in the district: Spiegel, to be transform into an island. The Groot Hertoginnelaan then imagines a long lagoon with an island: Goois Murano. This roundabout forms the border to where the sea comes in case of a possible flooding. The relevant part is just a bit lower than the rest of Bussum.
The sculpture will consist of a tree shape, roughly welded from steel and glass. Blown spheres are hanging in the tree, referring to water in color. The surroundings of Bussum will shine and shine in the glass. Every moment of the day the roundabout shows differently.
